It was a sunny but chilly day, the water was even colder but clean with a turquoise tint and I had the uncontrollable urge to set aside common sense and go for a swim. Everyone shivering in the boat thought I was crazy. Needless to say the water felt like thousands of needles piercing my skin but soon I forgot all about it as I was overwhelmed by the beauty of my surroundings. This was by far the highlight of my Carretera Austral journey through Chile.
