Coldest weekend of the year, an evening snowstorm, winter camping at Lake Superior. Another small Know No Borders expedition in northern Michigan.
We drove seven hours north to Munising, a small town on the shore of Lake Superior that is the gateway point to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. There we geared up and hiked through the snowy forests and across the hills along Lake Superior. In the evening we made shelter behind a fallen tree, dug a perimeter in the snow where we pitched our tent, dug a fire pit and did our best to survive the coldest Valentine’s night on record. There is nothing like barbecuing polish sausages under the cold northern sky in the middle of vast snowy forest. The following day the weather cleared up and allowed us to take some beautiful photographs that we happily share with you here.

Out of the thousands of photographs we've taken some of them were wide angle panoramas. We'll be gradually posting them as we sort them out. We hope you enjoy looking at them and use them for inspiration to get out and see the world.
